Frequently Asked Questions
Who makes your products?
All of our products are manufactured in-house. We design, engineer, and finish every shelf to exact specifications, maintaining full control of quality and craftsmanship from start to finish.
Specialty components such as lighting systems, metal brackets, and mounting hardware are sourced from trusted U.S. suppliers that meet our strict quality and compatibility standards.
Where are you located?
Our manufacturing facilities are located in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. All shelves are built and finished locally by skilled craftsmen, ensuring consistent precision, durability, and finish quality across every order.
Are your products in stock and ready to ship?
Each order is built to specification. Nothing is mass-produced or pre-stocked. Standard production time for most shelves is 7–10 business days, excluding weekends and holidays.
Custom or specialty items may require additional time depending on materials, finishes, or design complexity.
Will I need to assemble any of your products?
All of our shelves ship factory pre-assembled. We do not sell any "Flat Pack" or "Ready to Assemble (RTA)" shelves.
Will I be notified about my order status?
Yes. You’ll receive automatic email updates throughout every stage of production and shipping. If you have questions or special requests, email us at Support@GentryStinson.com.
We prefer email communication so that all requests, changes, and approvals are properly documented for accuracy.
Are your products made from real wood?
Yes. Most of our shelves feature real wood veneers or solid plank construction.
Here’s an overview of our main material types:
- Natural Wood Veneer Shelves - Made with genuine wood veneers sourced from FSC® certified forests. These veneers replicate the look of rare and exotic species while supporting environmental sustainability.
- DuraLam & VistaLam Shelves - Hybrid construction combining real wood veneers with high-pressure, impact-resistant laminates for maximum durability.
- MetroLam Shelves - Pair engineered wood or laminate cores with metal accents for a refined, industrial aesthetic.
- Solid Plank Shelves - Crafted from fully milled natural lumber for a true solid wood option.
Each product page includes detailed specifications for materials, finishes, and construction.
What is an FSC® certified forest?
An FSC ® certified forest is a forest that has been independently verified to meet the environmental, social, and economic standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a global nonprofit organization dedicated to responsible forest management.
Here’s what that means in practice:
1. Sustainable Forest Management
The forest is managed so that harvesting wood does not exceed the rate of natural regeneration. This ensures long-term forest health, biodiversity, and productivity.
2. Environmental Protection
FSC certification requires preserving wildlife habitats, water quality, and high conservation value areas. Chemical use and clear-cutting are limited or strictly controlled.
3. Social Responsibility
Local communities and indigenous peoples must have their rights respected. Forest workers must be paid fair wages, work safely, and have the freedom to organize.
4. Economic Viability
The forest’s economic use, such as timber, paper, or veneer, must be financially sustainable without compromising ecological or social values.
5. Chain of Custody Traceability
Products made from FSC® certified wood can be traced from the forest through every stage of production, ensuring consumers know the wood comes from responsibly managed sources.
What is MDF?
MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is a high grade engineered wood product created by compressing wood fibers with wax and resin under high pressure and heat. It is not particle board.
- Exceptional strength and consistency
- Tight dimensional tolerances (±1/16")
- Ideal surface for painting, laminating, or veneering
- Greater stability than natural wood, won’t warp, twist, or split
Do you offer other finishes or colors?
Yes. Our standard finishes represent our most popular color and texture selections, and we also offer dozens of additional designer finishes, including specialty laminates, custom veneers, and color matched paint options.
For custom color matching or unique requests, contact our design team. We can help you achieve nearly any look or specification.
What is your 7-Step Painting Process?
Our 7-Step Professional Painting Process sets the industry benchmark for finish quality, durability, and consistency. Each stage is performed with precision and inspected under strict standards to ensure a flawless surface with uniform sheen and long-lasting protection.
Can I mount shelves on stone, brick, or other masonry surfaces?
