Are products in stock and ready to ship?
Products are made to order. We do not stock any items. Production time for standard items is about five to seven working days or less, excluding weekends and holidays.
Will you notify me about my order status?
Yes, you will receive regular email updates and you are always welcome to email us with any questions. Email is preferred over phone calls so that we can document any additional requests or concerns along the way.
Are your products made from real wood?
We offer a wide selection of shelves made from a variety of materials including laminates, wood and metals.
Our standard shelves are made from real wood veneers. They echo nature's most desired and rare species without impacting their sustainability. Our real wood veneers provide the same look as the most expensive and rare woods and are grown in well managed FSC® certified forests. By using readily available wood fiber from well managed, plantation grown forests, we can offer the look of almost any exotic veneer while saving these great forests for future generations.
DuraLam and VistaLam shelves are made with a combination of wood veneers and high pressure impact resistant laminates.
MetroLam shelves are made with a combination engineered wood substrates or laminates and metal cladding.
Natural solid plank shelves are made from milled lumber.

What is MDF?
MDF is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibers, combining them with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. It is not particle board.
MDF is extremely strong with a uniform cross section. Tight dimensional tolerances of 1/16 inch or less can be achieved. MDF provides a surface ideal for painting and veneering. It is more stable than natural wood, cuts cleanly, and lacks natural defects. The veneers we apply are durable and attractive. Our shelves will never split or warp.
Do you offer other finishes or colors?
The standard colors are the most popular. Dozens of additional finishes are available as custom options.
Can I mount shelves on stone, brick or other masonry?
Yes, we offer specialty brackets for non traditional mounting options.
Do you accept custom orders?
Yes. FloatingShelves.net is a full service millworks and we can make just about anything you need including furniture and accessories.
