LED Lighting Guide

Overview

Our LED Light Ready shelves are engineered to integrate seamlessly with 24-volt LED lighting systems. Each unit is precision routed and fitted with professional grade aluminum channels, allowing you to install your own LED components for a clean, custom illumination effect.

Electrical components are not included. Always follow local codes and consult a qualified electrician for installation.

Integrated Channel System

Aluminum LED channels are factory installed 2 inches from the front or back edge and 1 inch from each end, ensuring a balanced and professional appearance.

These channels:
• Protect LED strips from dust and physical damage
• Improve heat dissipation to extend light lifespan
• Create a smooth, diffused glow with no visible “hot spots”

Diffuser covers are included and cut to exact length for a seamless finish once your LED strip is installed.

Recommended LED Drivers

For safe, consistent performance, we recommend UL-listed, dimmable 24-volt drivers. Avoid inexpensive adapters commonly sold in DIY kits. Commercial grade drivers ensure smooth, reliable operation.

Suggested Model:
• 60 W Dimmable Driver (24 V DC Output)
• Short-circuit and over-current protection
• Silent operation with no buzzing or overheating
• Smooth dimming from 100% down to 10%

Recommended LED Strip Specifications

For best visual quality and longevity, select premium 24-volt LED strips that meet these standards:

• Voltage: 24 V DC
• Power: 4–5 W per foot (medium output)
• Color Temperature: 2700 K–3000 K (warm white) or 4000 K (neutral white)
• CRI: 90+ (for accurate color rendering)
• Chip Density: 120 LEDs per meter or higher (for smooth diffusion)
• Backing: 3M adhesive for secure mounting

Recommended Color Temperatures

Lighting profoundly affects the mood and usability of a room. Choose the Kelvin temperature that suits your space:

2700 K - Warm White: Relaxed, inviting light for living areas and bedrooms.
4100 K - Neutral White: Balanced illumination ideal for kitchens, offices, and work zones.

Tip: Maintain a consistent color temperature within each room to preserve visual harmony.

Recommended Brightness Levels

Select brightness (lumens per foot) based on the shelf’s purpose:

150–250 lumens/ft - Accent Lighting: Soft, ambient glow for art or décor.
300–450 lumens/ft - Task Lighting: Balanced brightness for kitchens or displays.
500+ lumens/ft - High Output: Maximum visibility in brightly lit environments.

Installation Notes

Each shelf includes a routed wiring exit point for easy connection to your power source. Test all components before final installation to confirm polarity, color temperature, and brightness. Once your LED strip and driver are in place, snap the diffuser into the channel for a finished, architectural look.
