"Ready to Stain" or "Clear Coat"
Understanding Finish Options
To ensure every customer selects the right product, we clearly distinguish between Ready to Stain and Unstained + Clear Coat shelves. Both use the same premium-grade wood veneers, but the finish treatment is very different.
Ready to Stain (Bare Wood)
Our Ready to Stain option is true unfinished wood veneer, no clear coat, no sealer, nothing applied. It is designed specifically for customers who want to apply their own stain or custom finish and prefer complete control over the final color.
-
Arrives sanded and ready for your finish system
-
A light final hand-sand (180–220 grit) is recommended
-
Accepts stains, dyes, oils, and specialty coatings with predictable results
-
The best choice for designers and DIY finishers who want a custom matched tone
Unstained + Clear Coat (Natural)
This version is not raw wood. It showcases the wood in its natural color but is factory-sealed with a protective clear topcoat.
-
No stain added, just the authentic natural wood tone
-
Protected with a durable clear finish, ready to install and use
-
Not intended for further staining (the clear coat prevents proper absorption)
-
Ideal if you want the clean, natural appearance of the wood without any finishing work
